Educator in Residence
Taylor is an exceptional educator who currently serves the students of Texas through her passion, leadership, and belief in teaching the whole child. With elementary classroom experience, she now serves her district as an Instructional Technology Specialist by collaborating, coaching and providing professional development for educators. Previously she served as the Equity Liaison for her campus, where she had the opportunity to connect with many individuals seeking equity for all. In her role, she developed lessons, activities, and heritage month-centered displays to bring strength to her campus environment. Continuing her work in equity, diversity, and inclusion, Taylor served as a fellow in the Teach Plus Change Agent Fellowship. This program allowed her to receive funding to implement programs on her campus to increase equity.
Taylor’s work in enhancing school culture doesn’t end there. Taylor is an Achievement Via Individual Determination (AVID) student alumni and was featured in the only AVID commercial, ‘People Like Me’, as a senior in high school. She served on her campus AVID site team as they became an AVID campus through designing programs and analyzing feedback. She continues to give back to AVID through assisting elementary campuses on becoming AVID schools and public speaking at essential AVID events. Taylor was a panel speaker at the 2021 AVID National Conference and again in 2022 at SXSW EDU for AVID’s ‘A New Measure That Matters: The Possibility Index’. Taylor believes in giving back to all establishments that have played a vital role in not only her success but the future success of students.
Taylor believes in the vital role that technology can play in the enhancement of student learning and progress. She is an Apple Teacher and Apple Learning Coach in a 1:1 district with exceptional knowledge in various technological platforms as she supports elementary campuses in enhancing their instructional and use of technology. Taylor believes in integrating technology in the classroom to aid educators in meeting every child where they are in their learning. She has served as not only a participant in the district wide Apple Integration Mentorship program but now leads various sessions for the new cohorts. Through her experiences in public education, Taylor has developed a unique set of skills that allow her to serve all.
