The Colors of English
The Company:
The Colors of English is an innovative curriculum with a research-backed methodology for learning English syntax and grammar, empowering students to gain the foundational skills of the English language at the sentence level, providing the opportunity for life-long success with both reading and writing. The Colors of English program provides a fun, physical component to learning English grammar.
The Challenge
The Colors of English (CoE) products have the ability to meet the needs of students in grades K-12, however The CoE struggled to effectively identify which grade levels they should target to market their product. The CoE also needed more experience implementing their product in schools, and creating an effective professional development complement.
Our Role
RYE conducted a Landscape Assessment including an analysis of RFPs and Competitors to inform pricing and packaging. Based on this research, RYE provided recommendations on which grade levels CoE should focus their initial efforts and where they could actionably pilot their product. RYE then guided CoE through an advisory sprint to thoughtfully design school pilots for their unique curriculum product.
“We loved working with the RYE team. RYE brought the Colors of English a rare combination of practical advice (contracts, access to funding, pilot programs) and unique perspectives based on their broad experience bringing together schools, districts, and third-party vendors. The RYE team is easy to work with, and they are smart, consummate professionals. ”
Our Approach
Completed an in-depth Landscape Assessment
Made recommendations on pricing, packaging and market positioning based on data from Landscape Analysis
Supported the CoE team in thinking about their ideal buyers
Work behind the scenes to help solidify pilot timeline and implementation
Our Result
The Colors of English was able to create a timeline and implementation plan to pilot their product this year to ensure they are ready to sell in the next school year. They were able to focus their marketing and implementation efforts on specific grade levels that would provide the greatest impact on students learning.
